What is Precedentia?
Precedentia is a case-law search platform for lawyers in the Republic of Moldova. One database holds the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court and the ECtHR, and, on request, those of Romania's High Court of Cassation and Justice.
Which courts does Precedentia cover?
Four courts: the European Court of Human Rights, with judgments from 1959; the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, from 2008; the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, from 1995; and Romania's High Court of Cassation and Justice, from 2003.
How do I find a decision by its case number?
Type the number into the search field exactly as it appears in the decision, for example “Dosarul nr. 2ra-1025/2022” or “2ra-1025/22”. The year may have two or four digits.
Can I print a decision?
Yes, for free. On the decision page press “Print the decision” — only the decision text with the case details is printed, without menus. PDF and Word download is included in the Pro plan.
Are ECtHR judgments available in Romanian?
Yes. Precedentia publishes Romanian translations of ECtHR judgments, marked as such on each case, alongside the original English or French text.
